CROSS COUNTRY SUCCESS

We are immensely proud of all the children who ran in the Calderdale Cross Country finals at Spring Hall on Wednesday 10th February. We had some fantastic results with some amazing runners. All the children represented our school very well and they all showed determination and supported each other extremely well. It was great to see experienced runners and also children representing school for the first time. We are awaiting the full results to confirm who has qualified through to the West Yorkshire School Games on the 12th March and will let everyone know this soon. Well done to all.

Safeguarding Children

At Northowram School, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and we expect all members of the school community to share this commitment. Our school actively promotes fundamental British values. This commitment includes staff, governors, volunteers and contractors working on the school site.

We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment and these can be found on our website.

Sometimes we need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about pupils are discussed with parents/carers first, unless we have reason to believe that this would be contrary to the child’s welfare.

We actively support the Government’s Prevent Agenda to counter radicalisation and extremism.

Jane Jennings is our Designated Safeguarding Lead. She is the lead person in our school and the person to contact if you have concerns about a child. Mrs Scardifield and Mr Lomas are also Designated Safeguarding Leads. Canon James Allison is our Safeguarding Governor.
