World Book Day

What a good day we had in school yesterday. Once again the children came in and looked amazing in their costumes. Well done to the school council for organising this year’s celebration of books. Congratulations to the competition winners. In Key Stage 2 Jude Kenny was third, second was Hannah Booth and the winner was Matilda Neen. In the infants, Zane Ridley and Samara Ravat were the winners of the ‘design a book’ cover competition. All entrants are rewarded for their hard work with 50 house points. There were many fabulous entries.

Gym teams

The gym teams are ready and raring to go in the annual gym competition. It is good to see these pupils working so hard towards a common aim. It is a really tough competition and reflects the hard work of a range of schools. Well done to all the staff, children and supportive parents. Good luck next week.

Don’t forget the importance of a bed time story for your children. A quiet session each night spent listening to a story helps with sleep, relaxation and also learning and imagination. It’s really useful and the children love it!

Year 1 have hit the ground running with their new topic – Destination Outer Space. They’ve already been planning their spaceships to fly to another planet and have been making models of their designs. with junk modelling and giant blocks. They are also creating their own galaxy on a graffiti wall. Maybe they will encounter Aliens next?

Year 4 have been very busy.

After being delivered a ‘mysterious egg’ and reading books about eggs we have made our own 3D models from clay. We are so proud of the work that we have achieved.
