Goodbyes

Today we say goodbye to our Year 6 pupils, who have done so well in our school. They have achieved the best results that the school has ever had and they have contributed so much in so many ways over the years. They capped off their time in our school with a superb production which really did showcase their talents and their great characters. They go off now to high school and we wish them well. Thank you to each one of them.

We say goodbye to Mrs Sykes, who has completed two terms in our Reception Class. Thanks go to Mrs Sykes for her hard work.

Mrs Rossi retires today after around 15 years of service in our school. Mrs Rossi has given so much to the school community over the years and will be missed by pupils and staff alike. Thank you Mrs Rossi for all you have achieved at Northowram.

Lloyds Banking Group

Last week courtesy of Amada Coyne, whose son Nathan is in Y6, the school welcomed a team of nearly 40 volunteers from Lloyds Banking Group who used their ‘Day to Make a Difference’ to volunteer in school over 4 days.

The volunteers planted new shrubs and bushes, painted numerous playground areas including the nursery pirate ship, erected fences, created new seating areas and generally enhanced/brightened up the children’s outdoor play areas.

One new addition though that has really created a buzz in school are the 3 Minions which certainly are a highlight for the children.

The children also joined in a few activities and presented certificates to the volunteers as an appreciation of all their hard work. The school really appreciate Lloyds’ commitment to our school for all the volunteering hours carried out to date over the past 2 years.

Thank You To B&Q, Halifax

Northowram School would like to thank B&Q, Halifax for the kind gesture in donating 200 tins of paint that have been used by the team of Lloyds volunteers to brighten up the school play- ground areas. The children now have bright walls, a painted pirate ship, benches and 3 minions courtesy of our team of volunteers and B&Q.
