Open Classrooms

It was great to see the healthy turnout for the Open Classrooms that we held in school yesterday. We hope that you found this a useful and informative ‘drop-in’ session and that any queries or questions you may have had have now been answered. Please remember that you are welcome to speak with or email Class Teachers at any point to discuss the work and progress of your child. You certainly don’t have to wait!

Travelling Book Fair

Thank you for taking the time to come into school with your child to browse and purchase books from the Travelling Book Fair. With every purchase that you made you have helped
the school to get free books for the library. Thank you!

School Meals – Important Information

Nursery parents were advised that the children need to remain on the same meal pattern for one full term. The next time they can change is from January 2019.
All Years—School office staff must be advised of any changes to meal patterns, even if your child is in KS1 and entitled to the Infant Free Meals. This is to ensure that the correct number of meals are cooked each day, and that invoices are calculated correctly. At least 1 weeks notice is required of any change. Thank you!

Year 6 Visits to the Gurdwara

The children of year 6 classes visited the Gurdwara Sabha Singh this week. Mr Singh made us feel welcome and showed us around. The children were fascinated and made us very proud with their knowledge and questions. We learnt about when Sikhism started, the 5 K’s and a Sikh’s way of life! Learning about different faiths and beliefs is an important part of our RE curriculum—next week, our year 5 children are looking forward to visiting a local mosque!

Harvest

Reminder that this year we are joining the local churches in supporting the night shelter at the Halifax Food Bank. We are asking children to bring donations into school during week commencing Monday 1st October 2018.

PTFA Disco

The PTFA Disco will take place in school on Friday 19 October.
Reception — During school time
Years 1/2/3—4pm to 5.00pm
Years 4/5/6—5.15pm—6.16pm

No Dogs Allowed

Dogs are not permitted on the school grounds. Please support us with this by leaving your dog at home or at the gates.

Please Park Considerately

Parking is at a premium at drop-off or pick-up time. Please consider the safety of our children and the local residents when you park at these times. We continue to work with the local council and police to ensure that we keep our children as safe as possible at these busy times. Please think carefully about the safety of your parking – it really could cost a child’s life.

School Photo

A reminder that the individual/sibling photos will be taken in school on Wednesday 3 October 2018. If you have not completed the consent form for you child/ren to
have their photo taken, please call at the office a.s.a.p
