Welcome back!

Welcome back to a new half term. We hope you all had a restful Easter holiday.

Although this half term is short, we have lots of learning and exciting things to get through.
This newsletter contains information on some of the things we have planned over the next few weeks.

May we remind parents/carers that school is closed for Bank Holiday on Monday 6th May but will re-open on Tuesday 7th May as normal.

Governor Day

We were delighted to welcome our governors to spend the day with us in school yesterday. We always look forward to our governor days and our governors thoroughly enjoyed their time in
classes. Governors were particularly impressed with how much progress children had made since their last unit before Christmas and commented on our children’s wonderful manners and excellent learning behaviours.

We are so fortunate and grateful to have such committed and passionate governors who give so
much of their time to our school and achieve our aims to ‘improve success beyond expectation’.

Parents’ Evenings

Thank you to everyone who attended the Parent Consultation Evenings this week. It was so lovely to see so many parents/carers coming into school to discuss children’s progress with the class teachers.

Holding appointments in the school hall was extremely successful and will be something that we do again at future consultation evenings.

If for any reason you could not attend your appointment and you would still like to meet with the teacher, please contact school and we can try and organise a suitable appointment.

September 2019 Intake

We are delighted that we will be welcoming lots of new children into our Early Years Provision in September this year.

There will be new faces in both Nursery and our Reception class and we are really looking forward to welcoming them and their families into our school community.

Northowram Primary continues to be a very popular school both within and outside the village however a couple of places have become available for Reception in September 2019.

If you know any families who might be interested then please ask them to contact the Admissions team at Calderdale (01422 392617, cyps.admissions@calderdale.gov.uk).

Reception Class Visit to Square Chapel, Halifax

Last half term R Poplar and R Hazel went to the Square Chapel, Halifax to see ‘The Three Little Pigs’. The children and staff had a fabulous time and the children’s behaviour was exemplary. We were so proud of them!

Easter Hat Parade

How lovely it was to see so many of you supporting the children at the Easter hat parade on the last day of term. So much hard work and effort had obviously gone into making the hats and the children were so very proud of their achievements.
