Parking

As you are aware parking around school is at a premium particularly at drop-off and pick-up times. During these times parking is becoming an increasing problem which is resulting in un-safe conditions and disruption on Baxter Lane. We understand that these times can be difficult, however as you can appreciate the safety of our children is our number one priority.

To try and combat these issues we are excited to be working closely with Calderdale Council and the West Yorkshire police. This partnership has been instigated by one of our fantastic parents who is keen to support our new parking campaign. During these busy times parking will begin to be monitored by Community Safety and parking wardens as well as Calderdale Council CCTV vans who are able to issue on the spot fines. This will be in place from the end of this week with our main aim of ensuring that our children are kept safe outside of school. To support with this, we will also be using some new signage on Baxter Lane to remind drivers of the parking risks, so please look out for this. Many thanks to all our careful and considerate families, including many who walk to and from school, to help to reduce the amount of traffic
around the school site.

We hope that you can support and engage with our new campaign so that pick
up and drop off is a positive and safe experience for both yourselves and for all
our children.

Thank you for your support with this.

Gardening club

The gardening club visited Whitehill Allotments last Monday with the children learning about allotment gardening, witnessing gold raspberries and an eco toilet which all proved very
interesting.

The feedback from the allotment was ‘Please visit again, it was great to meet you all, the
children were enthusiastic and good ambassadors for the school’.
