Our Open Evening

October 02, 2015

Our Open Evening was a really successful event. It is great to know that the families of our children will always support events in great numbers. I hope that you are clearer about routines and systems in classes and also some of our aims and priorities. I would like to remind you about filling in two different surveys. You should have a Parentmail link to our own survey. Additionally, it is important that you complete the Ofsted Parentview Survey. Each year, the results are archived so we would appreciate you completing it annually. A link to this is on our school website. From the results of both, we will reflect and act in order to improve and develop our service.

School performance

May I draw your attention to the school website where you can find some basic information about our Key Stage 2 results. Our children did really well in 2015 and achieved our best ever results.

You can also look at the link on our website to the DfE Performance Tables. At the moment this only shows 2014 information, as the new data is not yet published.

Praise Assembly

Well done to the following children: Jaxon Green-Moore, Eloise Johnstone, Liam Burke, Jack Batchelor, Alexander Cullinane, Freddie Baker, Violet Elam, Isabella Briscoe, Penny Tsakirides, Oliver Clarke, Alfie Davies, Elliot Burke, Oliver Bower and Mia Priestley

Pre-ordering

What a busy week in the kitchen and office! The children have been pre-ordering their choices so that we can ensure they are getting what they want for their lunch. It really helps us if you have a look at the menus with your child beforehand.

Please can you make any changes to meal patterns giving one week’s notice. Thank you.

Admission to Primary School September 2016

Children born between:- 1st September 2011 – and 31st August 2012 will be able to start school in the academic year which begins September 2016.

Please ensure your child has their name down in school in order to receive an application form. These are also available on line at www.calderdale.gov.uk/admissions from 20th November 2015 until 15th January 2016.

MACMILLAN COFFEE AFTERNOON – You helped to raise £325.66!

Thank you once again for supporting this wonderful cause. We were overwhelmed by the donations and the amount of people who attended. We couldn’t have done it without you.

We would like to give a special mention to Anne Whiteley for her beautiful table decorations, to Mr Lomas for allowing this to become an annual event and to all the staff who gave up their time to help. Thank you again. Andrea Warrington and Diane Rattigan.

Parentmail

Please can you ensure if you have any changes to your e-mail address or mobile number that you amend these on Parentmail2. We do not have access to personal information at school. Thank you.

Ragdoll request

As part of the Year 1 DT topic on fabric faces, they would welcome any ‘Rag Dolls’. The dolls will be well looked after and will provide inspiration for their work.

We would be grateful if you could drop these at the main Reception but please make sure they are named for ease of return. Thank you.

PTFA update

A huge thank you to all the ladies who attended the fashion evening last Friday, it was a great success. I hope that everyone had a great time and grabbed a bargain or two. I am pleased to announce that we raised £784 which is amazing. These events take a lot of time and effort to plan, so I would also like to thank Lizzie, Jaks, Debs and family, Jen, Jennie, Anneka and Jude for all their help in ensuring that everything ran smoothly.

We have a number of things going on over the next few weeks, so please check out the events below. As usual you can find additional details on facebook and the PTFA blog. Lastly, I would also like to take the opportunity to thank one of our members Elinor Robinson, who is leaving the PTFA team this year. Elinor has worked so hard supporting events, designing posters, organising the school calendar and has been instrumental in giving the PTFA a professional image. We will miss her.

Have a great weekend and if you are free next Wednesday, why not come along to our next PTFA meeting, we would love to see you there.
