Admission to School

Admission to Reception
Children are admitted to school at the beginning of the school year in September. Admissions to the school are administered by Calderdale Local Authority and the number of Reception children admitted to our school each year is 60.

Calderdale Local Authority Admission to Primary School
Calderdale application packs are sent to all registered parents at the end of the year before your child is due to start school. Places are notified by Calderdale Local Authority.
Admission to Other Year Groups
In-year transfers
You will need to do this if you:
- Want to transfer your child from their current school to Northowram Primary School.
- Need a school place at any time other than transferring from nursery to primary or primary to secondary.
Fair Access Protocol
Each local authority must have a fair access protocol, agreed with a majority of schools in its area. This is to make sure that (outside the normal admissions round): Unplaced children, especially the most vulnerable are offered a place at a suitable school as quickly as possible.
